James HARRIS ¹

  Noted events in his life were:

• Research Notes: Harris, James of New London, Connecticut and His Descendants; From 1640 to 1878 by Nathaniel Harris Morgan, 1878. ¹ "James Harris's place of nativity, parentage, and time of advent into this country, I have been unable to ascertain. He and his wife Sarah Denison have the births of eleven children recorded in Boston. It appears that James and Sarah came to New London, Connecticut from Boston about 1690, with all three of his sons, James, Asa, and Ephraim, all minors, the eldest about 17 years of age, and at least two or more of his daughters; but where he resided there, or what his occupation, if any, while there, I have not been able to discover, though it is probable that he was by trade a weaver."
