G.H. Hooker Dies in Spokane Hospital Tuesday Evening
G. H. Hooker, one of the pioneer residents of this district, died at the Deaconess hospital in Spokane, Tuesday night, of a complication of diseases from which he had suffered for several months. The body was brought here Wednesday night and funeral services were conducted at the Hooker schoolhouse at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon by Rev. E.R. Henderson. Interment was made, following a special request of the deceased, on the Hooker homestead, north of town. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of the friends of the deceased and his family.
The deceased was a native of Virginia. He was 62 years of age and had lived in this district over 17 years. He is survived by three children. T.A. Hooker, Mrs. Lavina Carratt and Mrs. Mary Gallas.
The deceased was one of the most respected citizens of his neighborhood. He was fair and honest in all his business dealings and kindly and considerate in all his acts towards his acquantances.
Gabriel married Cemira Ann ANDERSON, daughter of David ANDERSON and Wife of David ANDERSON (MAIDEN UNKNOWN), on 11 Nov 1874 in Surry County, North Carolina. (Cemira Ann ANDERSON was born on 18 Nov 1849 in Stokes County, North Carolina and died on 22 Apr 1938 in Clark County, Washington.)
