Noted events in his life were:

• Census: 1850: Edmonson County, Kentucky. 13

• Census: 1870: Bee Springs, Edmonson County, Kentucky. 14

• Census: 1880: Bee Springs, Edmonson County, Kentucky. 15

• Occupation: 1870; 1880 Farmer.

• Research Notes. 16 "There are two Benjamin Rays born about the same time (1815) in Kentucky, one lived in Edmonson and the other in Warren. Many family trees have wrongfully combined these two men and their families.

The Benjamin Ray of Warren had a wife Louisa and children Ann Eliza, William D., Charles L., James Archie, Joseph W., and Mary C.

The B.I. Ray of Edmonson had three wives Diana Davis, Anganica Crump, and Elizabeth Vincent and a total of about 22 children.

Also, B.I. Ray Jr.s marriage certificate to Harriet Davis (Roof) and his death certificate, says his mother is Ann Raymer. Not sure if B.I. Ray Sr. and Ann Raymer were married.

As of yet I have not determined which Benjamin Ray is the son of John Thomas and Margaret Kelly. If it is the B.I. Ray of Edmonson, then this Ray line can be traced back to Thomas Ray and Mary Christmas who immigrated to America in 1642.

Benjamin married Diana Singleton DAVIS, daughter of Asel DAVIS and Francis HOUCHINS, on 4 Apr 1937 in Warren County, Kentucky. (Diana Singleton DAVIS was born on 29 Aug 1813 in Warren County, Kentucky and died on 19 Aug 1851 in Warren County, Kentucky.)

Benjamin next married Ann RAYMER.

Benjamin next married Anganica B. (Nishey) CRUMP, daughter of Jesse H. CRUMP and Cynthia Ann ROUNTREE, on 24 May 1861 in Brownsville, Edmonson County, Kentucky.1 (Anganica B. (Nishey) CRUMP was born in 1831 in Edmonson County, Kentucky.)

Benjamin next married Elizabeth Jane VINCENT, daughter of John VINCENT and Sarah LINDSEY, on 14 Feb 1878 in Brownsville, Edmonson County, Kentucky.2 (Elizabeth Jane VINCENT was born on 24 Nov 1847 in Edmonson County, Kentucky, died on 8 Sep 1938 in Edmonson County, Kentucky 9 and was buried on 9 Sep 1938 in Willis Graveyard, , Kentucky.)
