  Noted events in his life were:

• Military Service. Jefferson enlisted as a Private in Stokes County, North Carolina on 30 May 1861 at the age of 18. He served in the Confederacy for the 21st Infantry Regiment, Company G, North Carolina. He died of disease at Manassas, Virginia on 12 Sep 1861, at the age of 20.
