• Research Notes: Harris, James of New London, Connecticut and His Descendants; From 1640 to 1878 by Nathaniel Harris Morgan, 1878. 1 "Lebbeus Harris and his wife, Alice Ransom, settled first in Salem Parish on the old Sterling place, near the present Music Vale Seminary, but a few years after removed to Montville, upon a part of the large tract of land which he and his brother Jonathan bought of their father, Lieutenant James Harris. About 1760, Lebbeus removed with all his family to Horton, Kings County, Nova Scotia, which, about this period, appears to have been a great point of migration for our Harris ancestry. Tradition has it that these early Harris emigrants were the founders of a numerious and conspicuous line of the name in Nova Scotia and other British American Provinces; many of whom have been of public note, and several have held seats in the Colonial Parliaments."

Lebbeus married Alice RANSOM, daughter of Robert RANSOM and Wife of Robert RANSOM (MAIDEN UNKNOWN), on 20 Nov 1738.
