Born in New York 72 years ago, she lived in Irvington 46 years before moving to Point Pleasant in 1927.
In addition to her husband and the daughter mentioned, Mrs. Helwig leaves five other daughters, Mrs. William Beyer and Mrs. William Lyon of Irvington, Mrs. William Murphy and Mrs. Alfred Kilgore of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Charles Clifton of Point Pleasant, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Helwig, Mrs. Jacob Oertel and Miss Emma Stasse of Irvington. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 P.M. at the Welland avenue address.

HELWIG - At Irvington, N.J., September 22, 1938, Mary (nee Stasse), beloved wife of John V. Helwig, in her 73rd year. Funeral will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. Beyer, 103 Welland avenue. Notice of funeral hereafter.


Mary married John Valentine HELWIG, son of Conrad HELWIG and Martha Elizabeth FRANKFORT, on 14 Jan 1882 in German Reform Church, West Newark, Essex County, New Jersey.1 (John Valentine HELWIG was born in Aug 1860 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, died in 1943 and was buried in Clinton Cemetery, Lyons Avenue, Irvington, Essex County, New Jersey.)
