Frederick George Willey, pastor of the Sanford Street Methodist Church, East Orange, will conduct funeral services this afternoon for Mrs. Mary Stasse, widow of John W. Stasse, chief electrician of the East Orange Fire Department, at the home of a son, Police Recorder Edward L. Stasse, 139 South Arlington avenue, East Orange. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Stasse died Saturday night at her home, 279 Halsted street, from a complication. She was ill more than two weeks.
Mrs. Stasse was born in Roseland seventy-one years ago, a great-great-grand daughter of Captain Littell, who commanded the Colonial forces at the Battle of Springfield. She was one of the founders of the Sanford Street Church and a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She had been a resident of East Orange fifty years.
Surviving her besides Recorder Stasse are a daughter, Mrs. Edith Simcox, with whom she made her home, and two sons, Frank and John W. Stasse Jr. of East Orange. Another son, Charles l. Stasse of South Orange, was fatally injured when struck by an automobile in December, 1923.


Mary married John William STASSE, son of Fredolin STUSSE and Johanna KOGE, on 7 Jan 1872 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey.1 (John William STASSE was born on 25 May 1855 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, died on 25 Aug 1905 in Orange, Essex County, New Jersey 25 and was buried in Rosedale Cemetery, Orange, Essex County, New Jersey 20.)
